You'll be a vital member of a collaborative client team, supporting various projects and delivering actuarial insights that drive real-world outcomes. You’ll gain hands-on experience, sharpen your business acumen, and grow under the mentorship of senior analysts and actuaries.
• Analyze healthcare data, financial statements, and other work products to inform recommendations
• Build and maintain Excel models and actuarial tools
• Contribute to client reports and strategic planning
• Ask thoughtful questions and help shape solutions for complex healthcare challenges
• Join Athena community and strategy meetings to help strengthen our culture and mission
0–2 years of actuarial experience through school, internships, or early career
Progress toward ASA or FSA designation
Strong problem-solving instincts and a passion for learning
Commitment to Athena’s mission and values
Comfort working independently in a remote-first environment
Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
Experience with Medicaid, healthcare, or other public health programs
Familiarity with programming tools like SAS, SQL, or MacroVB
