Cost Accountant | Caledonia, MI

Salary Range: $66,000 - $99,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain standard costs for raw materials, labor, and overhead.
• Analyze production costs and variances, investigating significant deviations.
• Perform inventory valuation and reconciliation for raw materials, WIP, and finished goods.
• Prepare detailed cost reports and profitability analysis for management.
• Support budgeting and forecasting processes with cost data and analysis.
• Identify and recommend cost reduction opportunities and efficiency improvements.
• Assist in the month-end close process related to cost of goods sold and inventory.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3-5+ years of progressive cost accounting experience, specifically within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong understanding of cost accounting principles, inventory valuation methods, and variance analysis.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze complex financial data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with major ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) in a manufacturing context.
• Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles or Six Sigma methodologies.
• Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
• Advanced Excel skills, including VBA or complex financial modeling.
