Position: Data Analyst

Client Location: Schaumburg, IL

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze travel insurance policy and claims data to identify trends, anomalies, and business opportunities.
• Interpret policy wordings, coverage terms, exclusions, perils, and benefit structures.
• Compare internal travel insurance products against competitor offerings to benchmark:
  • Coverage levels
  • Benefit limits
  • Deductibles and exclusions
  • Claims experience and settlement patterns
  • Product features and pricing attributes
• Utilize LLMs and GenAI solutions to:
  • Extract information from policy documents.
  • Compare policy wordings across carriers.
  • Identify differences, gaps, overlaps, and coverage variations.
  • Summarize policy and claims insights for business stakeholders.
• Develop reports, dashboards, and scorecards highlighting policy and claims performance.
• Conduct benefit-level analysis across products and produce variance reports using AI-assisted techniques.
• Collaborate with underwriting, product management, actuarial, and claims teams to support product development and optimization.
• Create data models and analytical frameworks to support competitive intelligence and regulatory reviews.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in Data Analytics, preferably within Insurance.
• Strong understanding of Travel Insurance products, policy formation, coverage, exclusions, perils, and claims processes.
• Experience working with policy administration and claims datasets.
• Proficiency in SQL, Python, Excel, and BI tools (Power BI/Tableau).
• Hands-on experience with GenAI, LLMs, NLP, RAG, or document intelligence solutions.
• Ability to translate complex policy language into structured analytical insights.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with insurance product comparison and market benchmarking.
• Knowledge of underwriting and claims operations.
• Exposure to Azure OpenAI, GPT models, Claude, Gemini, or similar LLM platforms.
• Experience building AI-powered policy analysis or document comparison solutions.
