Position Overview

We are seeking a mature, motivated, and detail-oriented Front Desk Receptionist who can multitask like a pro, keep things running smoothly, and create a welcoming experience for every guest who walks through our doors to join our dynamic team for approximately 30-32 hours per week. The Importance of the Role

The Front Desk position is a vital role in ensuring the smooth and successful operation of our salon. As the first and last point of contact for clients, you are a direct reflection of our brand and play a critical part in shaping each client’s experience. While the quality of service from our stylists influences a client’s decision to return, the front desk interaction can make or break that relationship. A warm, professional, and attentive approach helps build loyalty and trust. Conversely, a lack of professionalism at the front desk can undo even the best service.

This role requires awareness, adaptability, and a strong sense of responsibility for managing the schedule, anticipating needs, and supporting both clients and the stylist team.

Professionalism in this role is not just expected—it is required. Your communication, appearance, organization and conduct must consistently uphold the high standards our clients have come to expect.

Roles and Responsibilities

As a Front Desk Receptionist, you will play a key role in ensuring smooth salon operations and creating unforgettable first and last impressions for our clients. Your responsibilities include:

1. Client Experience:

o Greet every client warmly and personally.

o Offer a beverage and provide an estimated timeline for when they will meet their stylist.

o Let the client know you will inform their stylist of their arrival.

2. Phone and Communication Management:

o Answer calls professionally with a friendly tone.

o Return voicemails and respond to salon emails throughout the day.

3. Scheduling and Appointments:

o Manage and maintain the daily schedule with accuracy and foresight. Reach out to clients

for rescheduling based on stylist requests.

o Prioritize pre-booking to ensure seamless scheduling and reduce last-minute stress.

o Assist clients in booking an appointment. Work as closely as possible to match their

timeline with our schedule.

o Clearly communicate service duration expectations

o Proactively reschedule appointments as requested by stylists

o Track and adjust scheduling to maximize availability and efficiency

o Follow up on unconfirmed appointments

o Communicate and enforce salon policies, including the Cancellation Policy

o Resolve scheduling or client concerns with professionalism and care

4. Front Area and Salon Operations:

o Open the salon 15 minutes prior to the first client.

o Sanitize high-touch surfaces, and maintain a clean and organized reception space.

o Refill beverage stations and prep the retail area daily.

o Ensure all services are properly closed our and paid for.

o Remain at the salon until the last client has left. Your presence ensures a smooth and

professional close to the day and supports both the team and client experience.

5. Social Media and Digital Support:

o Respond promptly to social media inquiries.

o Post fresh social media content daily.

6. Team and Salon Support:

o Do the laundry several times each day.

o Assist with cleaning and disinfecting between clients.

o Maintain cleanliness and organization in the salon, color room and shampoo area.

o Demonstrate basic IT competency to manage scheduling and system updates.

o Run minimal errands as needed

Compensation

 Hourly Rate: $16.00 per hour plus tips (with no prior experience). Experienced applicants are encouraged to share their qualifications for pay consideration.

 Retail Sales Incentive: Receptionists who sell $100 or more in retail products during a two-

week payroll period will receive 10% of their total retail sales for that period.

 Sick time is paid at a rate of one hour for every 30 hours worked, up to 48 hours maximum per year.
