The Horsham Clinic is a 206-bed, private behavioral healthcare facility located on a beautiful 55-acre suburban campus in Montgomery County. We are minutes from Philadelphia and serve patients and families from Southeastern Pennsylvania and New Jersey. The Horsham Clinic provides comprehensive behavioral health services to children, adolescents, adults, and their families. In addition to our main campus in Ambler, we have two satellite partial hospitalization programs in Chester County and Delaware County. The Mental Health Technician provides direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse. Primary responsibilities include the provision of a safe and therapeutic milieu, crisis intervention and activities of daily living. Staff must demonstrate flexibility for reassignment to units providing care to varied populations including children, adolescents, adults, older adults and dually diagnosed patients. Must possess knowledge of psychiatric group processes, therapeutic relationships processes, age specific growth and development, limit setting and behavior management, crisis management with aggressive behaviors, and CPR training. Special Factors:
While performing the duties of this job, regularly required to stand and walk. Employee must be able to access all areas of the hospital. Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. Frequently need to reach with hands and arms. Occasionally required to sit and stoop, kneel, or crouch. Must be able to physically handle assertive/combative patients. Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally more than 100 pounds. Vision and hearing within normal limits. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth vision. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, occasionally loud. The physical and mental demands may be strenuous at times. There may be long periods of standing, or walking, and medium to heavy lifting. The work is performed in client areas, therefore, there exists a potential for exposure to environmental hazards and contagious diseases, exposure to crisis/emergency situations, and exposure to all infectious diseases including HIV/TB/Hepatitis, blood and body fluids and needle sticks.
