At seoClarity, we’re all about bringing clarity to complex data… and that doesn’t stop with our financials. We’re looking for an On-Site, Part-Time Accountant (Chicago-Based) who enjoys keeping the numbers clean, the books organized, and making everything behind the scenes running as it should. 

Reporting directly to the CFO, this is a hands-on, dynamic position for a passionate and motivated accounting professional looking to take on new challenges with a growing SaaS company. There are processes in place with plenty of opportunities to be proactive and creative in helping us establish new best practices.

Part-Time Accountant (Chicago-based) Perks & Benefits  

• Hourly Pay Rate – $30.00 to $40.00 per hour, designed for a steady, part-time schedule with consistent hours each week. (24 hours per week)

• On-Site Schedule by Design – our team comes together in our Downtown Chicago office Tuesday through Thursday for high-impact collaboration.

Part-Time Accountant (Chicago-based) Requirements  

• 3+ years of hands-on accounting experience, ideally in a small to mid-sized business where you’ve had exposure to multiple areas of the accounting cycle
  

• Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
  

• Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks Online, including entering transactions, categorizing expenses, and maintaining accurate, up-to-date records
  

• Experience managing invoicing workflows, including creating invoices, tracking payments, and following up when needed to ensure timely collection
  

• Solid understanding of core accounting principles (debits/credits, reconciliations, financial accuracy) with the ability to apply them in day-to-day work
  

• High attention to detail with a natural ability to catch inconsistencies, missing information, or items that don’t quite tie out \
  

Part-Time Accountant (Chicago-based) Responsibilities  

• Manage the full invoicing process from creation to distribution, ensuring all invoices are accurate, complete, and sent in a timely manner
  

• Track outstanding invoices and payments, helping to maintain consistent cash flow and visibility into what’s been billed and collected
  

• Maintain and update financial records in QuickBooks Online, ensuring transactions are properly recorded, categorized, and easy to reference
  

• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, assisting with processing, tracking, and general upkeep of financial activity
  

• Review financial data on an ongoing basis to spot inconsistencies, duplicate entries, or missing information before they become larger issues 
  

• Prepare key financial reports including A/R aging, financial health metrics, etc.
  

• Assist with general bookkeeping tasks and provide support on ad-hoc accounting needs as they arise
