Job Title: Sr. Java API Developer with DevOps Exp (Hybrid)

Location: Nashville, TN (In-Person Interview)

Job Type: Contract

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced API Developer to join a dynamic DevOps team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable RESTful APIs while supporting CI/CD pipelines and collaborating within an Agile environment. This role is primarily remote but may require occasional onsite availability.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs and backend services
Contribute to API development (approximately 85%) and documentation (approximately 15%)
Create and maintain technical documentation using tools like Jira and Confluence
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, testers, business analysts, and scrum masters
Participate actively in Agile ceremonies and provide input during team discussions
Support and maintain CI/CD pipelines for efficient deployment
Troubleshoot, debug, and enhance existing applications
Ensure code quality, security, and performance standards are met
Contribute to continuous improvement and innovation within the development process

Required Skills & Technologies

Strong experience with Java development
Experience with RDBMS (Relational Databases)
Build and dependency management using Maven
Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or Tekton
Familiarity with Red Hat technologies , including OpenShift and 3Scale
Experience with JBoss application server
Proficiency in RESTful API development
Version control using Git (Bitbucket)
Experience with Kubernetes and containerized environments
Working knowledge of Agile methodologies
Experience with Jira and Confluence

Soft Skills

Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate in a remote Agile environment
Ability to clearly explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills

Additional Qualifications

Understanding of software development processes and best practices
Familiarity with service-oriented architecture and modern development practices
Ability to innovate and propose new solutions for continuous improvement
